Here is an unusual copy of Kabumpo in Oz with a hard-to-find dust jacket illustrated by Dick Martin. In 1960, only ten of the Oz books were issued in special dust jackets by Martin, and these were only in production for a few years before being replaced by the “white cover” editions without dust jackets, which are much more common. Kabumpo was written by Ruth Plumly Thompson and published by Reilly & Lee. This is one of the hardest to find Martin jackets! The book is very good, with a clean green cloth, intact binding, age toning to endpaper, clean pages. The dust jacket is good, not price clipped, with some sticker loss at upper right, and a large chip at bottom of back cover. Still very attractive. Martin’s dust jackets are becoming more and more collectible.
