Description
Here is a vintage edition of Kabumpo in Oz, 16th of the series of Oz books originally written by L. Frank Baum and continued by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Twelve gorgeous color plates by John R. Neill. Copyright 1922, this is a mid 1920’s printing, with Kabumpo pictured on p. [299]. This book has one of my favorite of Thompson/Neill’s imaginings of the Gnome Kinf so I used it for the main image.
Book is in near very good condition overall. The color pastedown has some light scuffing, and the cloth and spine are in generally nice condition with light edge wear. The spine is faded but not as much as it looks in the photo. Inside, both hinges are intact (small amount of splitting starting just at top of rear hinge). Book Belongs To page has a former owner’s name, as does the front free endpaper. All 12 color plates are present and in very good shape, except the last one is detached, but present. The text pages are in nice condition overall, with some age toning to the endpapers as is typical.
