Here is a wonderful piece of original art by Wizard of Oz illustrator John R Neill, from The Wonder City of Oz! This is the chapter head from Chapter 24 (p. 257) of The Wonder City of Oz, depicting Jenny Jump. At the 2022 Oz Club convention, I learned from one of Neill’s granddaughter that John’s daughter Annrea may have been the model for Jenny. Framed with some of original notations still visible. Frame is 14″x17″ and visible art is about 7 5/8″ x 10 5/8″.
There are some small white marks around the silver mat, not sure if they are under the glass or on the mat itself. Otherwise in very good condition–there is a lot of reflection from room objects in the photos but these are not flaws to the piece. Guaranteed original, this same piece sold for $1560 at PBA Galleries in 2013 (see last image). Original Neill Oz art is very hard to find!
