Here is a 1st edition, 1st printing of Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz, written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1929 by Reilly & Lee, this contains all 12 color plates by John R Neill, with marks it as the first printing according to the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum.
The exterior is only in fair condition, as there is rubbing and lifting to areas of the front pastedown as well as rear cover. I had another Jack P first with similar issues, so possibly a manufacturing defect? Spine is worn with some fraying at ends. The interior shows no sign of the book being wet, although both hinges are badly cracked with mull showing (but holding). The rest of the interior is actually in great shape–all 12 color plates are present and in fabulous condition. The ownership page is blank, and there is a small bookseller’s pencil notation on the endpaper, but the pages are in very good condition overall without coloring or tears. Deeply discounted due to exterior condition issues.
