Description

Here is a nice early printing of Grampa in Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Copyright 1924 by Reilly & Lee, with 12 color plates by John R. Neill. (This is the only early Oz book that didn’t have a color frontispiece as one of the 12 plates). Brick red cloth with attractive illustrated endpapers. The type at the bottom of p. 171 is damaged, indicating that while this is an early (pre-1935) printing, it’s not the very 1st printing.

Book is in good but not very good condition, but with a few flaws. The exterior cloth is quite clean, while the pastedown has some wear as shown. Inside, both hinges are intact and the Book Belongs to page has a neat name. There are about 25 leaves in the front of the book that have a hole punched in the bottom margin, including 2 of the color plates. One color plate and page near the end have staining at the base. The other color plates are present and in nice condition.
