Description
Here is a first edition/first printing of Glinda of Oz by L. Frank Baum, published in about 1920 by Reilly & Lee, with an unusual turquoisy blue cloth (usually this first is in a tannish cloth). As required by The Book Collector’s Guide to L. Frank Baum reference, Glinda of Oz is the last book in the publisher’s advertisement in the front, and the book has 12 color plates by John R. Neill without captions, as well as nice illustrated endpapers. The book is in very good condition overall, with color pastedown quite nice, and light wear to spine. Front endpaper is clean, rear endpaper has bookseller’s pencil notations, hinges are tight. Book Belongs To pages has a faint erasure mark. All 12 plates are present and in very good condition. A few pages near the end have some brownish stains and one has a small closed tear. Overall a collectible Baum 1st.
