Description
Here is a first edition/first printing of Glinda of Oz by L. Frank Baum, published in about 1920 by Reilly & Lee. As required by The Book Collector’s Guide to L. Frank Baum reference, Glinda of Oz is the last book in the publisher’s advertisement in the front, and the book has 11 color plates by John R. Neill without captions, as well as nice illustrated endpapers.
The book’s exterior has light wear to cover plate and spine ends, and the rear cover has some staining as shown. Inside, the front hinge is lightly cracked but secure, and there is a bookseller’s stock number in pencil at top of endpaper. The Book Belongs To page has a 1920 gift inscription, and the back also has a gift inscription. One of the color plates (opposite p 212) is missing. Pages with some toning and occasional soiling, including the title page. Offered at a discount due to the missing plate.
