Here is an original 1st edition, 4th printing of the Emerald City of Oz with 12 color plates by John R Neill. Published by Reilly & Britton, the 4th printing of the 1st edition (circa 1918) dropped the metallic ink on the spine and plates. Transitional printing between Reilly & Britton and Reilly & Lee, with Tin Woodman of Oz the last title listed on back of ownership page, and Reilly & Lee on the spine. Rather unusual to find this cover design with the Reilly & Britton imprint. With beautiful illustrated endpapers with Ozma by Neill.
Book is in good condition only, with significant wear to cover pastedown and spine, and is priced accordingly. Cloth worn at corners. Inside, both hinges are lightly cracked, but holding. Frances Mangum name on ownership page. Now the good news: The 12 color plates are present, with one or two with small edge tears or loose, but generally in nice condition. The pages are also in generally good condition, with occasional finger soiling. A hard to find early printing, priced at a discount due to condition.
