Description
Here is an early printing of “Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz”, fourth of the Oz books written by L Frank Baum. Copyright 1908, this is the earliest Reilly & Lee printing from 1919 (last title in list in front is Magic of Oz). This is the version of the cover with a yellow background and Dorothy still present (see Bibliographia Oziana).
The book have 15 of the original 16 color plates issued; including one laid in from a first edition that still has captions, with some chipping. The color cover pastedown has some wear and the corners are a little soft. The spine cloth and the rear cover are still in nice condition. Early pencil bookseller’s price on front endpaper in pencil. Hinges are tight and intact. Book Belongs To page is blank. Pages and remaining plates in generally nice condition.
