Description

Here is a nice copy of “The Yellow Knight of Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1930 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first edition with 12 fabulous color plates by John R. Neill–plus one bonus plate–a duplicate of the one opposite p 40 is also tipped in opposite p 32–for 13 total! With illustrated endpapers, in the “B” binding state with semi-script “Reilly & Lee” on spine (Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum). Brick red cloth, in a later dust jacket listing titles to Shaggy Man of Oz (1949).

The book is in very good condition overall. The exterior cover plate is quite nice, with a little wear at lower corner, and the spine and rear cover are quite clean. Inside, both hinges are intact, with some tanning to endpapers. There is a name on the Book Belongs To page. All 13 color plates are present and in very good overall condition. They have eyepopping bright colors; I love the plates in this book. The pages are generally nice condition also, with base of text block dirty on lower corner. The dust jacket is very good with minor edge wear and tear.
