Description
Here is a nice copy of “The Yellow Knight of Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1930 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first edition with 12 fabulous color plates by John R. Neill. Also with illustrated endpapers and in the “A” binding state with boldface “Reilly & Lee” on spine (Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum). Brick red cloth.
Copy is in good plus condition overall. The exterior cover plate is quite nice, and the cloth is in good shape except for a crease and some discoloration to spine as shown. Inside, both hinges have been imperfectly repaired, so there is a small piece missing from the front endpaper, and the rear endpaper is slightly raised. The front endpaper also has a bookplate and an old price in red pen. There is a pencil name on the Book Belongs To page. All 12 color plates are present and in very good overall condition. They have eyepopping bright colors; I love the plates in this book. The pages are generally nice condition also.
