This is a copyright 1937 first edition, first printing of Handy Mandy in Oz by Ruth Plumly Thompson, with Handy Mandy on the spine and 16-page gatherings. The dust jacket lists titles to Scalawagons of Oz, so is circa 1941, but is still contemporary with the book as issued–according to the Book Collector’s Guide (footnote p. 119), 1st editions of the book were issued with 1937 dust jackets, as well as those listing later titles up to about 1941. With black and white illustrations (as issued) by the famed John R Neill.
The book itself is in beautiful, near fine condition, with a complete, clean pastedown, clean spine and rear cover, tight hinges, and clean pages without writing or tears. The dust jacket is good to very good, not price-clipped, but with some chipping at top and base of spine and small edge tears as shown.
