Here is “Captain Salt in Oz”, one of the Oz books written by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Copyright 1936 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first printing with illustrated endpapers and 16-page gatherings, as called for in Bibliographia Oziana. Also in the first edition dust jacket with Captain Salt being the last title on the flap! As a post-1935 publication, this book never had color plates, but does have the color pastedown on the cover.
Condition of the book is very good–a little wear to bottom of pastedown, nice spine and rear cover. Inside, hinges are tight and there is browning/foxing to the illustrated endpapers and an old pencil price on front and small bookseller’s stamp on rear endpaper. Tan stain on edge of text block but otherwise, the pages very clean with no writing or tears. The dust jacket is also very good, not price clipped, light age toning, a few closed tears, and some loss at base of spine as shown. Please examine photos. Graphics are bright and beautiful.
