This is a first edition of the “Silver Princess in Oz” book in original 1st printing dust jacket. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1938 by Reilly & Lee. With the original 1st printing dust jacket, listing titles to Silver Princess in Oz. No color plates, as this book was published after Reilly & Lee stopped using them, but a first edition because of the silver title on the front pastedown, according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. Variant “A” binding with Handy Mandy on the spine.
This book is in very good plus condition. The color pastedown is beautiful, the spine and rear cover are very clean. Inside, hinges are tight, some age toning to endpapers and gutter, and old price erased at top of free endpaper. Small stain on edge of text block. Ownership page is blank, and the rest of the pages are also clean with
The dust jacket is in very good condition, not price clipped, and complete, with a little edge wear at top of spine and corners, and small 1/4″ edge tear on rear cover. A very nice 1st overall!
