Description
This is a first edition of the “Silver Princess in Oz” book. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1938 by Reilly & Lee. No color plates, as this book was published after Reilly & Lee stopped using them, but a first edition because of the silver title on the front pastedown, according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. Pale orange cloth; variant “B” binding with no illustration on the spine.
This book is in good plus condition, with a nice pastedown cover, fading to spine cloth, and clean rear cover. Inside, the hinges are tight, but the endpapers front and back has a little staining at the top of the pages as shown. Neat name and 1938 date on the ownership page, other pages are clean, with light age toning but no tears or coloring.
