Description

This item has now been sold. A scarce first edition of “Ojo in Oz” in original 1st printing dust jacket. This is one of the harder 1sts to find, particularly in dust jacket, since it was only printed for a couple years before they dropped the color plates. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1933 by Reilly & Lee, spine imprint in bold lettering. With 12 beautiful color plates by John R. Neill and the original 1st printing dust jacket listing titles to Ojo in Oz.

The book is in very good condition. The color pastedown is complete and bright, the spine is square and clean, and the turquoise cloth is in nice shape. Inside, the hinges are intact and the binding is tight. The front endpapers has the former owner’s name and 1933 date in pen on front endpaper. The title page has 1222 written in pen. The pages are clean and all 12 plates are in fabulous, bright condition! The dust jacket is in fair to good condition, with some staining to spine and loss to base as shown. Not price clipped, but wiht considerable edge wear and tear along edges and fold lines.
