The Princess of Cozytown by Ruth Plumly Thompson, author of many Wizard of Oz books, in the original publisher’s box! Published by P F Volland in 1922, illustrated by the amazing Janet Laura Scott, one of my favorites. Copyright 1922, no other dates or printings listed. The book features beautiful color illustrated endpapers and color illustrations by Scott throughout. This is one of the most beautiful Oz-related books ever. With ads for Volland Fairy and Happy Children books in the rear. A nice collectible for both the Ruth P Thompson and Janet Laura Scott connection, scarce in box. Also with an original advertisting insert for Volland’s Buddy Jim laid in.
The book is in near fine condition, with some dark staining to spine as usual with this title, presumably due to the glue used. Tight binding, pages clean–no marks, no tears. The box is in near very good condition, top clean and one flap torn as shown.
