Description
Here is an early printing of “The Hungry Tiger of Oz”, with 12 color plates by John R. Neill and also illustrated endpapers. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, first published by Reilly & Lee in 1926, this is a slightly later circa 1930 printing with plates coated on both sides (see The Book Collector’s Guide to L. Frank Baum). This is one of my favorite Oz books.
Book front pastedown has some scuffing as shown. The exterior cloth is in general good condition, but both hinges have been glue repaired inside. This makes the outside joints look a little pinched–see photos. Inside, the front hinge looks a little messy still, and a name has been erased from the top of the front endpaper. All 12 color plates are present and in quite nice condition. The text pages are in good condition with occasional soiling, the worst shown in the image.
