Description
Original Tin Woodman cardstock bookmark advertising The Magical Land of Oz, a marionette show ca. 1928 by Jean Gros, starring the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman. The bookmark design is from John R Neill’s color endpapers for The Patchwork Girl of Oz book. Back advertises the Oz books, with the last one listed Giant Horse of Oz (1928). Rare and ephemeral, this is one of the most desirable Oz collectibles because so few survived. About 5 1/2″ tall.
In very good condition, with minor toning and edgewear commensurate with age. This one seems to be even more scarce than the Scarecrow bookmark that I’m listing separately.
