Description
For Halloween in 1939, the Einson-Freeman Company issued 5 different paper masks capitalizing on the Wizard of Oz movie. These Par-T-Masks were also handed out by Santa in the toy department of a New York department store. The characters included Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Lion, and the Wizard. Patent #2021593. I’ve recently been fortunate enough to come across a set of these and am listing them separately. Here we have The Wizard of Oz himself!
The mask is in very good condition, particularly for something so fragile. The graphics look great save for a tiny scuff at top of mask, with die-cut nose intact. Both original rubber band ear holders, with the Einson tags and patent numbers, are still present. A wonderful early Oz collectible!
