Here are two very unusual Wizard of Oz items: both promotional brochures for the “Wonderful World of Oz” theme park. This Disney-like park and resort was planned for Kansas City, but was canned in December 2001 due to local opposition. The first of these glossy full-color brochures describes in detail the apeal of Oz, plans for the park and even has a proposed map on the back. The second brochure, The Oz Phenomenon, discusses the book, the movie, and the timeless appeal of Oz. Both in beautiful condition, and filled with beautiful images, some supplied by noted Oz collectors Joe Scarfone, Bill Stillman and Jane Albright. Scarce.
