Here is a wonderful early Oz-related newspaper article from May 3, 1932, announcing the forthcoming “Wonderland of Oz” comic strip serialization of L Frank Baum’s books. While not mentioned in the article, Walt Spouse illustrated the strip. The article from the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin also contains interesting information about author Ruth Plumly Thompson–for example, did you know she only weighed 90 pounds, had rosy cheeks, and liked buying hats?
