Description
Here is an early printing of “Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz”, fourth of the Oz books written by L Frank Baum. Copyright 1908, this is an edition from about 1927-1930 with 16 incredible color plates by John R Neill. The dating is based on no list of titles on back of ownership page (Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum). This is the version of the cover with a yellow background and Dorothy still present. With illustrated endpapers as well.
Exterior in very good minus condition, with some soiling to cover plate and light wear and sunning to spine. Inside is very good plus, with tight binding, no writing or tears, and age toning to pages. This book is one of the few Oz books issued with 16 instead of 12 color plates, with all 16 present in this copy and in excellent condition. Ownership page. Overall a very nice early copy.
