Here is an unusual special keepsake edition of “A Kidnapped Santa Claus”, a story written by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum. This book is one published in 1986 by printing/type design firm Cooper & Beatty (Toronto) as a Christmas gift for their friends and associates. Unclear how many were printed but this is the first I’ve seen and it’s not listed in the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum (a 1993 privately printed edition is listed there as the second edition). 5 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ in blue wraps with a small title pastedown. Not illustrated except for a frontis illustration, and nicely printed.
In very good condition with light cover wear and spotting to rear cover; interior is fine. Santa is kidnapped on Christmas Eve by Daemons of Malice and Hate, who are angry with him for making children so happy.
