Description

Here’s an unusual find–an original book from Wizard of Oz author L Frank Baum’s personal collection, with his “Ozcot” bookplate on the marbled front endpaper. The book, Records of the Past, Volume I (1902) is also inscribed by the author Henry Mason Baum to “Mr. L Frank Baum” himself. I was not able to find a direct connection between this two men who were of a similar age, but Henry M Baum was also born in upstate New York, so perhaps a distant cousin?

Unfortunately the book is in poor condition, with a missing spine and detached boards, and the first gathering detached, but present. The pages seem complete with lots of interesting images of historic sites around the world. The bookplate also has some wear as shown. Gilt fore-edge. The book could be restored back to its original glory, or just leave it in the archival bag I provide with the first page with the bookplate displayed.

Something different for the collector who has (almost) everything!
