A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett, 1948 edition by Scribners (New York) with 8 color plates and frontispiece by Ethel Franklin Betts. With the original dust jacket. The plates are really evocative, especially “The sparrows twittered and hopped about quite without fear” (4th photo). Interesting book from the author of “The Secret Garden”.
The book is in very good condition with some edge wear, tight hinges, owner’s name on front endpaper but otherwise clean pages. All plates present and very nice. Jacket is fair only, price-clipped with considerable wear and chips as shown.
