Description
Original Scarecrow cardstock bookmark advertising The Magical Land of Oz, a marionette show ca. 1928 by Jean Gros, starring the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman. The bookmark design is from John R Neill’s color endpapers for The Patchwork Girl of Oz book. Back advertises the Oz books, with the last one listed Giant Horse of Oz (1928). Rare and ephemeral, this is one of the most desirable Oz collectibles because so few survived! About 5 1/2″ tall.
In very good condition, with minor wear/age toning to extremities commensurate with age. The companion Tin Woodman bookmark from a separate listing is now sold, sorry.
