Description

In 1916 Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum started a new “Bluebird” book series under the pseudonym Edith Van Dyne. “Van Dyne” was already popular as author of the Aunt Jane’s Nieces series books. Baum wrote several books in this new series before he died, starting with “Mary Louise” (the name of his favorite sister). Mary Louise Solves a Mystery is the third book in the series, copyright 1917 by Reilly & Britton. This is a later printing from the 20’s by Reilly & Lee, but special as it’s in the original dust jacket!

The book is in very good condition with a clean exterior (small dark spot on right of cover), tight hinges, clean pages and endpapers (some tanning), and intact frontispiece. Dust jacket has a little dirt and creasing, lost to ends of spine and upper corner, but is still quite attractive.
