Description
Here is a first edition of the Rinkitink in Oz book by L Frank Baum, a Wizard of Oz book published in 1916 by Reilly & Britton. This is a first printing as described in the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum: no publisher’s advertisement on back of ownership page, and with Reilly & Britton on the spine and title page. With pictorial endpapers and 12 color plates by John R Neill.
Condition is good plus overall, with some flaws.The cover pastedown cover has a little wear and scratching as shown. The spine and rear cover have some browning as shown. Inside, both hinges are intact, and the ownership page is blank. All 12 color plates are present, but 3 are loose with some edge wear, and the frontis also has a couple small tears at top. The pages are in generally nice condition, a few with staining. A hard-to-find Baum first–this was actually in my own collection until recently when I found an upgrade.
