Description
This is a first edition of the “Silver Princess in Oz” book. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1938 by Reilly & Lee. No color plates, as this book was published after Reilly & Lee stopped using them, but a first edition because of the silver title on the front pastedown and 16 page gatherings, according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. Tan cloth; variant “A” binding with Handy Mandy on the spine.
This book is in very good plus condition, with a clean pastedown cover and the cloth and spine are in great shape. Inside, the hinges are tight, and there are some bookseller’s pencil notations and old price on the front endpaper. Ownership page is blank, other pages are clean, with light age toning but no tears or coloring. A quite collectible copy!
