Description
Oz author Ruth Plumly Thompson was very prolific, and also wrote text for Disney in the 1930s. Here is one of those efforts, Peculiar Penguins, “from a Walt Disney Silly Symphony”. Copyright 1934 by David McKay, hardcover, 45 pages, including full-color illustrations and illustrated endpapers. While the book says the story is “by the staff of Walt Disney studios”, the Autumn 1991 Baum Bugle checklist confirms that Thompson actually wrote it.
The book is fair to good only, with a pretty nice exterior, with a little staining at upper right and some wear to cloth on corners. Rear cover has some light staining. Binding is strong and the endpapers are quite clean, but many of the pages have tears near the margin as shown, a couple as large as 2″. No writing noted.
