Here is an original vintage copy of The Wizard of Oz Waddle Book. Bobbs-Merrill leased its Wizard of Oz plates to Blue Ribbon Books, and this book is the result. This is the 1st edition, 1st printing 1934 edition with “Blue Ribbon Books” on the spine (Bibliographia Oziana, p.36)! Light green cloth. There are eight fabulous color plates by W. W. Denslow. This book has been reproduced a few times, but why buy the repro when you can have an original for just a bit more? While the waddle characters are not present, as usual, the three pages with instructions for assembling the waddles are still at the back of the book.
This book is in very good condition on the exterior–clean and tight with just light wear. Inside, both hinges are significantly cracked, but holding. Old pencil price and notation on front endpaper. All eight color plates (with text on the back) are present and in quite nice condition. The text pages overall are quite clean with light age toning.
