Description
Here is a rare old “The Theatre” magazine from Feburary 5, 1903. Of interest to us is the enthusiastic critique of the early Wizard of Oz stageplay created by Julian Mitchell, with its opening at the Majestic Theatre. They say “With it goes any amount of fun, some music not difficult of comprehension, and a bewildering array of pretty and shapely girls in costumes elaborate in design but scant in material.” At the bottom of the page are 5 small photos of women actresses in the production. About 16 pages, apparently removed from a bound volume so with some loosening to spine and pages.
