Here is another interesting early item by Wizard of Oz illustrator W W Denslow. Around 1910, Denslow illustrated a number of colorful advertising booklets for different companies. One of the most fun was this one: “Through Foreign Lands with Sunny Jim” for Force Malted Wheat Flakes Breakfast food. Charming illustrations of Sunny Jim visiting people of all types around the world (including some racial stereotypes typical of the period). Copyright 1910 by the H-O Company.
The piece measures 5″ by 8″ and has 36 pages in full color. In very good condition overall; the cover has some age toning and light soiling, and a little wear at base of spine. The interior pages are all clean and near fine. A scarce and collectible Denslow item.
