Description

Here is a beautiful copy of “The Yellow Knight of Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1930 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first edition with 12 fabulous color plates by John R. Neill. Also with illustrated endpapers and in the “B” binding state with semi-script “Reilly & Lee” on spine (Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum). Brick red cloth.

This copy is in very good plus condition overall. The exterior cover plate is gorgeous, as is the cover cloth, which still has a sheen to it, though the rear cover has a little spotting as shown. Spine is straight, unfaded, and clean. Inside, both hinges are intact, with some age toning to both endpapers, and a vintage bookseller’s stamp to front one. There is a name and old bookseller’s pencil price on the Book Belongs To page. The pages are otherwise in very good shape and all 12 color plates are present and in near fine condition, though one is partially loose. They have eyepopping bright colors; I love the plates in this book!
