Here is the fun Wizard of Oz book by L Frank Baum put out to tie in with the movie in 1939! Published by Bobbs Merrill, this thick edition has 8 original color plates by W.W. Denslow used in the original Wonderful Wizard of Oz book, but with colors more simple. Copyright 1903, published 1939. This is the second printing of this edition, with blank endpapers instead of the MGM movie stills, ca 1940s.
This copy is in good condition, mostly clean on the outside with a little spotting and corner and edge wear to cloth. Inside, hinges are tight, with a vertical tear/scuff to endpapers and a 1945 penciled inscription. Pages are generally clean and the 8 color plates are in nice condition except for a small (1/4″) closed edge tear to the first one.
