Here is an unusual Oz-related book, as well as one of the hardest to get “Big Little Books”: The Laughing Dragon of Oz. Published in 1934 by Whitman, this Oz tale was written by L. Frank Baum’s son, Frank J Baum. Sequels were planned, but Frank actually didn’t have legal rights to continue the series, so this ended up being the only one published under his name. . 1st and only printing. Size of book is only 3.5″ x 4.5″ x 1.5″. 425 pages.
These paper-covered books are fragile and hard to find in nice condition. This one in much better than usual condition. The front cover is beautiful and clean, with a little wear to spine and rear cover. Inside, the front hinge appears to have been reglued, while the rear one is intact. Two period inscriptions inside the front, otherwise the pages are in very nice condition with some wear and age toning as typical with this book. A nice copy overall.
