Description
Here is “The Visitors from Oz” book with an unusual yellow buckram library binding. Pictorial library bindings are becoming very collectible, since they are different and colorful and have recently been featured in an article in the Baum Bugle by Bienvenue and Schmidt. Published in 1960 by Reilly & Lee, with beautiful and bold full-color illustrations by Dick Martin. With “American Publishers Company” printed on the back. The most common color for the library binding is green, this is only the second yellow one I’ve had on offer in 17 years of selling Oz!
The book is in average condition for a library book. There is some soiling to covers, library markings on front endpapers and card pocket inside rear cover as expected. Some staining to fore-edges of early pages, otherwise pages in good condition with some wear. Binding is tight and solid. A collectile item for those who like the unusual, and Dick Martin’s art.
