A nice first edition book of “Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz” in original 1st printing dust jacket. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1929 by Reilly & Lee. With 12 beautiful color plates by John R. Neill. Also and most importantly, with the original 1st printing dust jacket, listing titles to Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz.
The book is in near very good condition. The color pastedown is nice, but there are a couple small dings on the fore-edge and the cloth on the rear cover is not fully glued down as is endemic with this particular Reilly & Lee title. The spine is slightly lightened at the base where the dust jacket is missing a piece. Inside, the hinges are tight, a bookseller’s pencil notation on the blank endpaper, very small spot on title page and opposing plate. All 12 plates are present and in near fine condition. Ownership page is blank.
The scarce dust jacket is in good condition, with a chunk missing at base and also some loss along back flap, price clipped and with some edge tears and creasing as shown.
