Description
Here’s a nice set of two little books published by the Thomas Mosher, well known in the early American private press movement. One book is co-written by William Morris of Kelmscott Press. Both books are of a limited edition of 425 and come in individual decorative slipcases with a Morris-style paper design. Printed on Japan vellum at the press of George Loring in Portland, Maine. I cannot find any other copies of these books online in the original slipcases, but believe they are part of the “Brocade Series”; for more info see the Thomas Mosher site here.
Morris, William and Pater, Walter: Some Great Churches in France (1905). 106 pages. 14th edition. Book in very good condition with light wear and soiling. Tight binding. Slipcase fair, with some splitting to edges and a small piece missing at base.
Pater, Walter: The Child in the House an Imaginary Portrait (1908). 46 pages. 2nd edition. Book in very good condition with light wear and soiling. Tight binding, Slipcase fair, with some splitting to edges and a small piece missing at top.
