Unusual and funky original postcard featuring the Scarecrow from the wildly popular Wizard of Oz play that debuted in 1902, looking up at one of the giant hats being worn by a lady of that era. Dated “Jumbo Lids, 1905” on the front. One of these Scarecrow cards was sold with a Wogglebug card at Bloomsbury in 2008 for $500: https://new.liveauctioneers.com/item/5652712_frank-baum-oz-wooglebug-lesson-no-3-jack.
In very good condition, with light edge and corner wear, pencil writing on the back but postally unused. A rare early card (note–may not actually be Fred Stone pictured but an artist’s representation of him in the play).
