Here is an iconic, collectible edition of “The Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum. Published by Reilly & Lee, this 1961 abridged edition was completely re-illustrated by Dick Martin. Adapted by Jean Kellogg. Oversized, 9″x12″, no dust jacket (as issued). In color laminated pictorial boards with many vivid full-page color illustrations. Very cute rear cover with the Scarecrow reading a 1st edition Denslow-illustrated Wizard of Oz. Very hard to find, often very worn if found, and I’ve seen good copies go for over $700 at auction.
This copy is in very good condition. Bright exterior with very light soil, slight bump to corner and spine ends but very attractive with spine in much better shape than usual. Inside, pages in excellent condition except for the large “From the library of Sally Ann Poole: stamp on the front endpaper and title page. Otherwise no marks, tears, or writing. Hinges and binding intact. A very nice collectible copy of this rare book, which I’ve listed for less than usual because I have another copy online as well.
