Here is an unusual copy of “The Land of Oz”, copyright 1932 by L. Frank Baum. Reilly & Lee seemed to be going thru a bit of an identity crisis with this title, which was issued in many different cover designs. This cover type was only published between the 1940s and 1959. After that the covers were blank with colorful dust jackets, and then finally the color covers were brought back with the white cover editions. This cover features a yellow Emerald City. Go figure. Or poassibly it is the Tin Woodman’s shiny tin palace. At any rate, it’s an unusual cover design! Black and white illustrations by John R Neill throughout.
Book is in good to very good overall condition. Front cover and rear cover have just light wear, and the spine has age toning and a little wear starting at ends. Inside, the hinges are intact, there is a crack to the text block near the middle, but no danger of loss to pages. Text pages are good without writing or tears but with some spotting to a few pages.
