Here is a first edition, first printing of “The Silver Princess in Oz”, one of the Wizard of Oz books written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, in its original dust jacket. Copyright 1938 by Reilly & Lee. As a post-1935 publication, this never had color plates, but has the color pastedown on the cover. This book with illustrated endpapers and in the first binding state, with Silver Princess in silver ink and a girl’s face as the spine illustration (Book Collector’s Guide to L. Frank Baum.) The 1st state dust jacket also has silver ink and lists Silver Princess as the last title on the flap.
The book is good plus–the pastedown is perfect but the book is slightly bowed, some spotting on rear cover. Inside, hinges are intact but there is some nibbling to edges of endpapers (silverfish?), including one small hole on rear free endpaper (~1/4″ across). Clean pages, no writing even on the Book Belongs To page. The jacket is near very good, some rubbing and small edge tears but complete and not price-clipped (lists to Silver Princess).
