Description

Here is an uncommon early copy of “Tik-tok of Oz”, 8th of the Oz books written by L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1914, this is a circa 1918 Reilly & Britton 1st edition/3rd printing in red cloth. Notable for it’s lovely pale green map endpapers, 12 color plates and listing titles in the front to The Tin Woodman of Oz. Illustrations by John R. Neill.

Book is good or slightly better condition. Front pastedown is dirty with some scuffing and scratches; spine has a small stain and fraying at ends. Inside, front hinge is cracked with webbing showing, the rear hinge is intact and the map endpapers are still lovely. Crack to text block near end. Book Belongs To page has a Japan decal on it and there’s a name and address opposite (Marilyn Martin of Kansas City, MO) as well as some booksellers notations, all in pencil. All 12 color plates are present and in very nice condition. Text pages have brown finger soiling on and off and I saw one small edge tear.  A hard to find printing in decent overall condition.
