Description

Here is an early Reilly & Britton printing of The Road to Oz by L Frank Baum. There were four different printings of the first edition, and this is the third printing, with Lost Princess of Oz as the last title listed on back of the ownership page. Illustrations in black and white (this title never had color plates). Nice green tinted edges to page block, blank endpapers. All the printings by Reilly & Britton are rather hard to find.

This book is in fair condition only. The stamped cloth cover has some wear, adn the spine is starting to split–about 1/2″ at top edge, with a little fraying at base. Some wear to corners and some soiling to rear cover. Inside, the former owner has written her name twice, with “No. 4” referring to the fourth Oz books. Pencil name on ownership page. The spine is cracked at the ownership page and at the rear free endpaper, so the binding is a little floppy, but holding. The pages are in decent condition except for three or four pages with tears, chipping and soiling; the worst shown in the last photo. So, an early copy for the non-judgemental collector,  offered at a large discount.
