Here is an unusual copy of The Purple Prince of Oz book with a hard-to-find dust jacket illustrated by Dick Martin. In 1960, only ten of the Oz books were issued in special dust jackets by Martin, and these were only in production for a few years before being replaced by the “white cover” editions without dust jackets, which are much more common. These jacket covers are described in Appendix 2 of Bibliographia Oziana (1988). Purple Prince was written by Ruth Plumly Thompson and published by Reilly & Lee. This is one of the harder to find Martin covers!
The book itself is near fine–exterior cloth is very clean, no marks, tight binding, slight folding to early pages. Book Belongs To page is blank. The jacket is good plus, with moderate edge wear and tear as shown. Some loss to base of rear cover. Not price-clipped.
