Here is a nice 1st edition copy of The Purple Prince of Oz, by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Published in 1932 by Reilly & Lee, this is the first printing with 12 color plates by John R. Neill. Also with illustrated endpapers. One of the harder Oz 1sts to find–as the color plates were discontinued in about 1935.
Condition of this book is very good. The front cover pastedown is quite nice, with just a small tear at top of pastedown that has been glue repaired. The spine and rear cover are clean and bright. Inside, both hinges are intact and tight, with some age toning to endpapers. Ownership page has erased name. The pages and 12 color plates are in great shape–although the pages opposite the plates have some acid browning, esp at base. See photos. Still a nice 1st overall.
