Here is a 1st edition copy of The Purple Prince of Oz, by Ruth Plumly Thompson, in the original 1st edition dust jacket! Published in 1932 by Reilly & Lee, this is the first printing with 12 color plates by John R. Neill, and the dust jacket listing titles to Purple Prince of Oz. With illustrated endpapers. One of the harder Oz firsts to find–as the color plates were discontinued shortly after in about 1935.
The book is in near fine condition–the front cover pastedown is beautiful and crisp, the binding is tight, and all 12 color plates are present and in wonderful condition. Very minor discoloration at top of spine, and one page with a corner fold. Book Belongs To page is blank. The dust jacket is near very good–with a 3″ closed tear on rear cover and moderate wear and tear around edges, but basically complete and with flaps and price intact.
