Here is a nice copy of Oz Paese Incantato (Baum’s “Marvelous Land of Oz”, or Wizard of Oz) in Italian. Published in Rome by Societa Apostolato Stampa (S.A.S), undated but ca. 1940s. An oversized production (about 8 3/4″ x 11″) with 250 numbered pages. Illustrated by Miki Ferro Pelizzari, translated into Italian by Maria Luisa Agosti Castellani. This is one of a set of 5 gorgeous, scarce Oz books by this publisher! I’ve finally completed my set and am now able to offer copies for sale whenever I’m lucky enough to find them.
With a stunning full color cover and illustrated endpapers, and many amazing text illustrations. There are eight full page, full color illustrations and many other single color illustrations throughout.
Condition is very good, particularly for these notoriously fragile paper-over-board books. Clean color graphics and spine, light edge wear, and some scuffing to rear cover. Endpapers and pages have some age toning but are very clean and in nice shape otherwise, no writing or tears!
